Think!

To know where to look if you want to solve a hardware probem just sit down and think. "What could be the cause? Where is my computer different from others? Did I change something recently in the hardware or softare?" All valid questions you have to ask yourself. Try some other settings on your videocard, audiocard etc.
If you have another system or operating systems, try to play the game on those. Try to make a connection to solve the problem. Solving hardware problems can be very satisfactory.

After a few years of giving support on our games most of the hardware problems we get are due to:

* Underpowered 3D video cards, especcially those in laptops and onboard videochips.
* Using outdated and spyware/virus infected operating systems (eg. Windows 98/98Se/ME).
* Using the newest videocards without updated drivers.

If you are not sure your system meets the minimal specifications, or your videocards chipset is not mentioned in the list below, try to install the demo of Lovechess The Greek era. If the demo runs correctly you can assume the new version of the game will run on your system as well. The demo can be found here.

Cannot build 3D Scene

When you get this messeage, the game cannot initialize a 3D video modus. There are main reasons for this to happen:

1. DirectX is not installed or corrupted.
Reinstall DirectX. You can download it from here.

2. The computer has no 3D hardware accelerated graphics card or a very poor 3D card.
Most of the times this applies to laptops or computers with onboard Intel graphics chips. The video ram on laptops is often shared with the main ram and set to 32Mb. Try to set it to 64Mb or more. Onboard video chips are often not fully DirectX compliant. Some games run fine, some games don't.

Ram: 256 MB (512 Recommended)
Video Card: 3D Hardware accelerator Card Required - 100% DirectX 9.0c compatible, 64Mb. (*)
Minimum Screen Resolution: 1024x768
Sound Card: DirectX(r) 9 sound device
DirectX(r) Version: DirectX 9
Multiplayer: 56Kbps or better for Internet or LAN play (broadband recommended)

Important Notes:
Some 3D accelerator cards with the chipsets listed here may not be compatible with the 3D acceleration features utilized by LoveChess. Please refer to your hardware manufacturer for 100% DirectX 9.0c compatibility.
