Daniel Skramesto won second prize

The artist Daniel Skramesto has won the second prize in the digital art competition of the Los Angeles Center for Digital Art. His work finds its origin in erotic nudes and porn collected on the web. He uses these images to create an unique, almost liquid, sensual world.

The Los Angeles Center for Digital Art, also know as Lacda, is dedicated to the propagation of all forms of digital art and is supporting digital artists from around the world by exhibiting their work in their gallery.

Their comment about his work:
"Daniel Skramesto (Portugal) uses internet pornography as a base for his work digitally transforming low resolution images into "quasi-paintings" that draw inspiration from his European heritage by beautifully emulating the light and tone of the baroque period. His entry makes an ironic contrast between the extreme "low" and "high" of Western culture where sexual identity is represented by emerging technologies."
